O clube de desbravadores Desmond Doss foi fundado em abril de 2022, tendo como seus diretores Thays Araujo e João Passos. A escolha do nome é em alusão ao soldado Desmond Thomas Doss, fiel desbravador que recebeu honrarias e medalhas mediante sua conduta durante a Batalha de Okinawa na Segunda Guerra Mundial.
